A Guiding Light; Creating a Support System, for Managing Medications and Enhancing the Well being of Caregivers

A Guiding Light; Creating a Support System, for Managing Medications and Enhancing the Well being of Caregivers

It all started with a chat I had with my grandma. She was managing medications each, with its tricky schedule. Her pill organizers were. The worry of missing a dose weighed on her constantly. My uncle, her caregiver, lived a few hours away and felt the burden of responsibility even from afar. I soon understood that many shared their challenges. Every day countless individuals and their caregivers face the complexities of medication management. That's when the concept, for "A Helping Hand" began to form.

User Pain Points:

  • Patients found it challenging to keep up with their medication routines due to the complexity of their schedules resulting in missed doses and possible health issues.

Our solution

  • A Helping Hand was created to connect patients and caregivers offering an easy, to use platform.

  • Smart Reminders: Tailored reminders that went beyond alarms. They featured visuals of medications, guidance and reminders for refills.

  • Caregiver Requests: A system allowing caregivers to make requests for medication refills, appointments or simply check ins.

  • Being Check Ins: A gentle reminder for caregivers to monitor their mood and stress levels with access, to resources.

Results:

  • Users mentioned they were better, at following the schedule resulting in missed doses and a sense of empowerment over their well being.

  • Caregivers experienced a decrease in stress levels as they felt closer to the process well informed and emotionally supported.

  • The app stores were filled with testimonials that left an impression, on users.
